Reason why my hand start do not work when my motorcycle is on gear

Hi, guys today we will be talking about some common reasons why hand start may not work when my motorcycle is in gear.
To be able to do this you must first understand how the electrical system works. when the motorcycle is in gear, it does not start except when you hold the clutch. The reason behind this is to prevent the motorcycle from falling when you try to start it, especially with a remote. but if you hold the clutch and the hand start still does not work then the clutch sensor is bad.
In case you are wondering what the sensor looks like, take a look at this picture below:

Try and replace the clutch sensor if faulty, to know if it is faulty, hold the clutch when trying to start the motorcycle on gear, and if the hand start does not respond then the sensor is faulty and should be replaced.

There is another method to fix it without the clutch sensor but it is not recommended to use it if you still use the remote on your motorcycle. Open the side cover of your motorcycle where your battery is placed, and go for the starter solenoid you should see two wires from the starter solenoid one which is yellow and red and the other which is green and red or sometimes green only, connect the green and red wire to the negative terminal of the battery and you are done, you don’t have to worry about your hand start not working anymore when your motorcycle is on gear.

Note: Always hold the clutch when you want to start it on gear as the sensor is no longer functioning as safety features
